Mat Riley
Mr. Riley joined our team in February 2015. His primary responsibilities are new ventures and operations on our assets outside of the Gulf Coast.
Prior to his current position, he served in several roles at Laredo Petroleum Inc., from 2011 to 2015, including exploration and exploitation of unconventional reservoirs in the Permian Basin. At Laredo, he helped develop the processes for targeting and drilling horizontal wells in the Permian Basin. Additionally, he provided technical analysis and advice on business development and new venture opportunities.
He worked for XTO Energy exploiting conventional reservoirs in East Texas from 2008 to 2011. His primary focus was mapping Bossier sand development, Cotton Valley potential, and identifying upside on existing acreage. Dominion E&P helped start his career, mainly conducting operations in the Uintah and San Juan basins. Throughout his career, he has worked conventional and unconventional reservoirs, from identification to exploration to exploitation.
Mr. Riley received his Masters of Business from Baylor University in 2016, Master of Science degree in Geology in 2007, and his Bachelor of Science in Geology in 2005, both from Oklahoma State University.
